In 1981, Depeche Mode released their debut album "Speak and Spell". The band and their producer, Daniel Miller, used a specific setup for drums with an ARP 2600 providing a thumping kick drum and a KORG KR-55 providing the snare.
I made a video where I attempted to reverse engineer what they'd done based on interviews and exploration and this was the result. Along with kick and snare samples of my ARP 2600 (reissue) and KR-55 (original), I created hats, toms, claps and zaps.
